Pirates Season Opener Postponed

Opening Day Pushed Back To Friday

PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) – The Pittsburgh Pirates season opener against the Detroit Tigers has been postponed due to rain.

Opening Day 2018 will be pushed back to Friday with the first pitch scheduled for 1:10 p.m.

Pirates’ pitcher Ivan Nova is scheduled to start against the Tigers' Jordan Zimmerman.

Rain is not in the forecast for Detroit tomorrow with highs reaching the upper 40s.

The Tigers made the announcement around 9 a.m. Thursday morning.

The Pirates home opener is scheduled for 1:05 p.m. Monday at PNC Park against the Minnesota Twins.
