Pitt Football to Start Primetime and Then in the Morning

Panthers announce times for Virginia & Ohio games

May 15, 2019 - 3:26 pm

PITTSBURGH (93.7 the Fan) – Pitt announced a pair of Heinz Field kick times for this year, one in prime-time and one will start in the morning.

The Panthers game with Ohio University on September 7 is scheduled to begin at 11am.

That’s also Pitt’s annual Band Day, which allows youth marching band members to participate in a pregame rehearsal and join the Pitt Band for an on-field halftime performance.

It’s the second ever 11am start, the game against Louisville in 2012 at Heinz Field also started at 11.

Virginia is here for the opener on August 31 at 7:30, which not only kicks off the season, but conference play as well.  That game runs in conjunction with the Heinz Field Kickoff and Rib Festival.

The start times for the remaining 10 games will be announced at a later date.  That includes the final matchup with Penn State on September 14.

Panthers are the defending ACC Coastal Championship and coming off a birth in the Hyundai Sun Bowl.
