November 06, 2018 - 7:12 pm

The Pittsburgh Penguins announced on Tuesday that they have recalled Zach Aston-Reese and Garret Wilson from the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins after their strong performances this season. The team also announced that forward Derek Grant is re-assigned to WBS Penguins.

Aston-Reese’s is riding a career high with his first professional hat trick on November 4. He’s third in points this season for WBS with six goals and three assists in 11 games, seven of which were in the last four games.

Wilson, team captain, leads WBS in points, scoring points in eight of the 11 games.

Both players spent time in Pittsburgh last season. Aston-Reese had 4 goals and six points in 16 regular season games last year. Wilson is looking to make his Penguins debut, but has experience playing in the NHL for the Florida Panthers from 2014-16.

The Penguins have lost their last four games, the lastest being their 5-0 loss at PPG Paints Arena on Saturday against the Toronto Maple Leaves.

The Pens play the Washington Capitals at Capital One Arena on Wednesday at 7:30pm.
