PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) - A two-hour lightning delay and another stoppage due to a stadium lights outage at Highmark Stadium couldn’t stop the Pittsburgh Riverhounds  from SC blanking North Carolina FC Wednesday to improve to 8-1-7 on the year.

The Hounds got goals from midfielders Christiano Francois, in the 45th minute, and Kevin Kerr in the 71st minute.

Goalkeeper Dan Lynd recorded his eight shutout of the season.

Coach Bob Lilley says he is happy his team came out strong.

"We got the goal. That was huge. The second half we came out, we addressed some things and I thought we were ready to go."

The win gives the Hounds 31 points on the season, good for second behind FC Cincinnati.

The Hounds now head to Ottawa to play Fury FC at 1 p.m. The Hounds beat Ottawa 1-0 in their only other meeting this season on April 14.
