PITTSBURGH (93.7 the Fan) – Steelers players react to 26-14 loss to the Ravens, dropping them to 1-2-1.

“We get off to these slow starts,” guard David DeCastro said of being outscored 42-6 in the first quarter.  “It’s tough not having the crowd in it.  Hearing some boo-birds, there was a lack of energy.  It was definitely our fault.”

“When you have true competitors on our team, people are going to be upset,” said center and captain Maurkice Pouncey.  “People should be down right now, we just lost a divisional game.  When people are excited or running around and excited to see their families, something is really not right.  That’s when we have a problem.”

“We just have to finish plays,” said linebacker Vince Williams.  “We just have a lack of play-making right now.  We got to generate some splash.  It doesn’t come from doing anything extra, it comes from being fundamentally sound, take advantage of opportunities when they arise.”

“They we’re doing a great job of holding their personnel and then running it in at the very last second,” said corner Joe Haden.  “We were trying to match personnel.  That was one thing they were doing very well, but as fast as they do theirs, we have to do ours like that too.”
