The second NFL Sunday kicked off with a bang, er, rather a fire.

Prior to the Indianapolis Colts vs. Tennessee Titans game at Nissan Stadium in Nashville, a fire broke out on the field in the area where the players run out while they are introduced.

Reporters at the game said it was part of the pyrotechnics equipment that usually shoots out flames and smoke, ironically enough, that caught fire.

It occurred shortly after the Titans ran out onto the field right next to the 5-yard line, but fortunately there were no injuries and the flames were extinguished rather quickly.

It was not apparent what caused the fire.

The area that was affected was covered in soot and ash, but it was out of the field of play. The game was still able to start on time.

Hopefully it was not an omen for what was to come for the game.
