Gardner Minshew is one cool cat.

The Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback, who won over NFL fans last season with his on-field moxie and Paul Bunyan-esque tales, added to his legend again this weekend with a “Tiger King” inspired Instagram post.

The 23-year-old posted a mock movie poster of himself wearing a sparkling blue leopard-printed jacket photoshopped in a safari alongside a big cat with the title “Jaguar King: Mustache, Madness and Mayhem” above.

Minshew, with his colorful attire and signature mustache, looks like he could fit right in as a character in the wildly popular Netflix docuseries, which follows the feud between Oklahoma zookeeper Joe Exotic, the self-proclaimed Tiger King, and Florida animal rights activist and tiger sanctuary owner Carole Baskin.

The fascinating personalities and absurd story twists have led to myriad of memes created about the show, and Minshew’s “Jaguar King” is right up there with the best of them, especially considering the quarterback had become somewhat of a meme himself.

After impressing on the field when he took over for an injured Nick Foles, Minshew became an internet sensation with his striking resemblance to Napolean Dynamite character Uncle Rico, stories of his naked locker room routine and the time he tried to break his hand with a hammer in college.

Even after his rookie season, the Minshew Internet fandom continued as he decided to hop in an RV and travel across the country.

With Foles now traded to the Chicago Bears, Minshew is slated to be the starting quarterback in Jacksonville for the 2020 season. Should he continue to exceed expectations, Minshew may truly earn the title as “Jaguar King.”
