We won't likely be seeing Chris Sale pitch for a while, but it appears as though he might have the opportunity to take the mound for the Boston Red Sox sometime early in the 2020 season.

After consulting with the Red Sox doctors, Dr. James Andrews and Dr. Neal ElAttrache, Sale learned that his sore left elbow is a product of a flexor strain. It determined that the pitcher's UCL was no different from when imaging was taken of his arm last year.

The plan now, according to interim manager Ron Roenicke, is to wait another week before considering a throwing program for Sale.
