Tampa Bay tight end Jordan Leggett had a feeling he might not wear No. 87 for very long after the Buccaneers acquired Rob Gronkowski in a bombshell trade on Tuesday.

His suspicions were proven correct.

Leggett was reassigned to No. 81, while his newest teammate and fellow tight end, Gronkowski, was given the familiar No. 87 he wore for nine seasons in New England.

The change was reflected on the Bucs website, according to Ian Rapaport of NFL Network.

Late on Tuesday, Leggett took to Twitter to welcome Gronkowski to Tampa, and jokingly offered up the number for a million bucks.

But as the evening wore on, the reality of seniority appeared to sink in for the third-year pro out of Clemson.

A similar situation transpired when the Bucs acquired Tom Brady. Wide receiver Chris Godwin surrendered his No. 12 for the legendary quarterback, switching to No. 14.
