PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan)- During his weekly spot on Tuesday at 8 am last week on The Fan Morning Show, Steelers guard Ramon Foster said that the team needed to focus on giving the home crowd something to cheer about first, rather than relying on them to help disrupt things.

Well, the Steelers drove right down the field on their opening drive, capped it off with a 5-yard touchdown pass from Roethlisberger to Vance McDonald and the rest is history.

"It was electric, they were a huge factor," said Foster. "I think they (Patriots) had like two or three false strarts, just [from] the anxiety of the crowd. A couple of their offensive lineman had holding calls because they were a second late on their snap count. It was huge."

"When Renegade played, it had to have been one of the loudest times I've ever heard the song and the people in the crowd. It was, I hate to say a thing of legends, but it was actually really doggone cool."

Foster liked what he saw from the Steelers defense the entire week leading up to its impressive performance on Sunday, limiting Tom Brady and the Patriots to just 10 points.

"I really felt good about our defense the entire week this week," said Foster. "Looking at them and how they practiced I said to somebody earlier I was like, 'Man, it looks like they are in camp mode.' I said that in a sense that they were moving around quickly, their communication was high and considering the situation that we were in, they wanted to prove everybody wrong."

Ramon also stands by Chris Boswell, saying that many kickers go through similar things and that he has full confidence in him because he's their guy, their teammate and he feels there is no one better suited for the job out there right now.
