PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) - Earlier this week the Denver Broncos hired former Bears defensive coordinator Vic Fangio over Steelers offensive line coach Mike Munchak leading many to assume Munchak would be back with Pittsburgh, but not so fast.

NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reports that the Broncos are still interested in Munchak after not hiring him as their head coach.

Rapoport says that the Broncos contacted the Steelers about their intention to speak with Munchak about another position within the coaching staff adding Munchak impressed Denver during their search for a head coach.

It has also been reported that Munchak’s contract with the Steelers is up.

ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter reports that Denver won’t bring back offensive coordinator Gary Kubiak leading many to believe that opens up the door for Munchak.
