Report: Heinz Unlikely To Renew Naming Rights To Heinz Field

The current deal expires in 2021

PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) - There's a good chance we'll be calling Heinz Field something else in a couple of years.

A report in the Sports Business Journal says it is “highly unlikely” Kraft Heinz will renew the rights deal that expires in 2021.

The Journal also reports talks have stalled.

Kraft Heinz sent a statement to the Post-Gazette yesterday, saying: “Both organizations are committed... for at least the next two seasons.”

The SBJ says that Kraft Heinz is currently paying an average of $2.85 million to have its name on the stadium and that is rather low compared to other places.

SoFi could pay $20 million yearly for the naming right of the future home of the Los Angeles Rams and Chargers.

UPMC, PNC, and PPG are possible candidates to pick up the naming rights.
