Report: Pirates Open To Trading Cervelli

Yahoo sports says the Bucs are willing to move the veteran catcher

PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) – The Pirates are open to trading Francisco Cervelli according to a report from Jeff Passan of Yahoo Sports.

Cervelli will be the Bucs highest paid player in 2019 with an $11.5 million salary. 

The 32-year-old Cervelli played in 104 games for Pittsburgh last year hitting a career-high 12 homers and 57 RBIs.

Cervelli was plagued last year by multiple head injuries and was placed on the concussion DL multiple times.

Passan also reported that Toronto Blue Jays catcher, and former Pirate, Russell Martin is also on the trading block
