The Tie Gives The Hounds A Point To Start The Season

PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) - Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC earned a point in the 2018 season opener against Nashville SC on Saturday with a 0-0 tie.

The tie marks the first time since 2013 the Riverhounds kept their opponent off the scoreboard in an opener.

The Hounds defense played well allowing only one shot on goal in the first 45 minutes of play.

Hounds head coach Bob Lilley says his team did performed well against a good Nashville team.

"That was our first time out, and the intensity to have to go on the road in that type of environment, we handled it well. It’s always disappointing to not get the full three, but that’s a good team and I think both teams will be significantly better as we go forward,” said Lilley.

The Hounds’ home opener at Highmark Stadium against Penn FC is this Saturday at 7 p.m.
