PITTSBURGH (93.7 the Fan) – Steelers players reacted to the first Heinz Field win of the season Sunday.

“We wanted to stop the run early and it allowed the 4-man rush to go eat,” said outside linebacker T.J. Watt after eight tackles and three sacks.  “The back end did a great job of coverage.”

“I thought they had a phenomenal game,” Ben Roethlisberger said of his offensive line.  “I think they were tired of hearing all the ‘what’s going on’ and ‘we can’t run it.  I think James (Conner) was tired of hearing about Le’Veon Bell so much, so he put on a heck of a performance today.”

“Hopefully this performance can catapult us in the right direction, and start climbing the leaderboard of defenses, continue to win and make plays for this team” said linebacker L.J. Fort, who had six tackles, a sack and a touchdown.

“We are always on the same page,” Antonio Brown said of his relationship with Ben Roethlisberger.  “We are always positive.  Never listen to what the media says.  We know we got to stay together regardless of what’s being said.  All of my catches, all of my touchdowns are from him, and that’s my guy.  I live and die with him and the Wi-Fi was lit.”

“We were just successful today,” said center Maurkice Pouncey.  “Guys were on their blocks, guy were hitting the holes the right way.  We were making plays.  We didn’t have a lot of penalties and the defense did a hell of a job to get us the ball back so we had opportunities.”
