PITTSBURGH (93.7 the Fan) – Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger said he’s talked to Antonio Brown and he doesn’t think he wants to be traded.

“If I spoke to him and I felt like it (his tweet) was personally coming from him and not a reaction to someone else, then maybe I’d have a little more worry,” Roethlisberger said.  “As of now I don’t have any worry.”

Roethlisberger said he will at times say something to guys about being smart on social media, but said there are freedoms in this country.

“Isn’t that the point of trolls, or whatever, who sit behind a computer in their mom’s basement or wherever they are, trying to bait you into saying things,” Roethlisberger said.  “I think you have to rise above it at times.”

Ben said any team in any sport is going to have distractions throughout a season.  He believes the Steelers have a great group of guys in the locker room who will continue to lead.  Noting it’s not just on the coaches, but the players need to do their job as well.

"It's just about being about your business, about your job and going out there to practice and meetings and being on time and making sure that you hold guys accountable,” Roethlisberger said.

As a 10 time offensive captain, the veteran quarterback said of his leadership style.

“(I’m) just trying to lead by example, going about my job, showing up to work and playing my butt off.”

Roethlisberger said he had a talk with Brown Wednesday morning at the team’s practice facility after he missed practice on Monday.

“I just told him to stay with us,” Roethlisberger said.  “He's not the only player to get frustrated in games, we all get frustrated.  AB is a very passionate football player and that's what makes him special, is his passion for the game and his passion to be great. We don't want to take that away.”

“When he's getting frustrated in games, I just tell him to stay with me, talk to me, communicate with me, let me know if I missed you on something.  If there is a way you are getting open and I didn't see it.  Let's just talk and communicate and he does a great job at doing that"

“The biggest picture is winning a football game and we haven’t done that yet, so all of us are going to be a little frustrated.”
