July 20, 2018 - 11:30 pm

152 riders began stage 13 of the 2018 Tour de France in Bourg d'Oisans.

After a couple of grueling days in the Alps, the sprinters that made it through the mountains with good position in the standings were primed for success during this stage on Friday.

Cycling World Champion, and one of the better sprinters, Peter Sagan took advantage and used a late surge to claim the Stage 13 victory which gives him 11 career Tour de France stage victories and 3 this year.

Geraint Thomas was able to retain the Yellow Jersey with his finish during this stage as well.

The riders will race from Saint-Paul-Trois-Chateaux to Mende on Saturday for Stage 14.  Coverage of the stage will begin at 8 am ET on NBC Sports Network on Saturday.
