PHILADELPHIA (93.7 The Fan) - Penguins defenseman Justin Schultz was cleared for contact on Monday but he will not play Tuesday night when the Penguins play the Flyers, the last game before the All-Star Break.

Coach Mike Sullivan made the announcement meeting with reporters on Tuesday morning.

While Schutz has been cleared by medical staff, Sullivan wants to bring him back at the right time.

“I think our medical staff does a real good job of advising the player and us and when that opportune time is and based on where Justin’s at we just think this is in the best interest of him and the team,” said Sullivan.

Sullivan also said that Tristan Jarry will start over Matt Murray in goal.

Puck drop in Philadelphia is 7:30 p.m.

The Penguins (31-13-5) will then be off for 10 days before playing the Flyers (26-17-6) again, this time in Pittsburgh on January 31.
