PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) - Saying some of the penalties Sunday against the Atlanta Falcons are a joke, Mike Tomlin was fined $25,000 by the NFL Wednesday.

After the Steelers 41-17 win Sunday afternoon Tomlin said of the officiating “We got to get better as a National Football League. Man these penalties are costing people games and jobs. We got to get them correct. So I’m (upset) about it to be quite honest with you.”

During his weekly press conference Tuesday Tomlin said he did not expect to be fined for his comments.

“He’s doing his job,” said linebacker T.J. Watt on Wednesday.  “It’s not my job to complain about the refs because my opinion means absolutely nothing.  I’m just going to play football and control what I can control.”

Tomlin has not commented on the fine.
