August 21, 2018 - 5:04 pm

PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) - Unable to practice yet with the team due to a torn ACL, after being signed last month, Steelers receiver Eli Rogers has now been suspended.

Rogers is out for week 1 of the regular season as part of the NFL Policy and Program for Substances of Abuse.

The 25-year-old played his only two professional years with the Steelers, getting into 27 games with 66 receptions for 743 yards and four touchdowns.  Rogers best game was in November of 2016 when he had six receptions for 103 yards against the Ravens.

The Miami native will be allowed to continue to rehab and attend team meetings, but can’t practice with the Steelers before the Browns opener or play in that game.

General Manager Kevin Colbert said the team is disappointed.
