PIITSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) - The Steelers have announced the team’s alternate jersey for the 2018 season will go back to 1978.

Art Rooney II made the announcement Wednesday at Heinz Field saying the throwbacks will celebrate the 40th anniversary of Super Bowl XIII, where the Steelers beat the Dallas Cowboys 35-31 for the team's third Lombardi trophy.

Wide-receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster modeled the new duds for the media in full pads.

“We felt like it was time to bring back the 70s style,” said Rooney.

He added they’ll also be celebrating the 10th anniversary of Super Bowl XLIII as some point during the season.

They will wear the 1978 throwback against the Cleveland Browns on October 28.

The uniforms were designed and made by Nike. You can get yours on the Steelers website.
