PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) - It’s the first day of Pittsburgh Steelers camp in Latrobe and Post-Gazette Steelers Insider Ed Bouchette joined the guys from camp to discuss the latest with the team as camp opens and expectations for the upcoming season.

There is no surprise that all of the players arte in camp expect Running Back Le’Veon Bell who threatens to sit out all of camp after he and the team failed to come to terms on a long-term contact and he will once again play in what appears to be his final season in black and gold on the franchise tag.

"He may break the bank with his next contract,” Bouchette told the guys. “But if anyone thinks that he is getting Todd Gurley money they are crazy.”

Bouchette says he still thinks the Steelers were better off to explore other options at the position and address the defense but it’s not the way the team felt.

He doesn’t think that the Steelers window has closed if they don’t win this year with Bell but it could be devastating for their chances this season if they don’t have him.

“If you have that much talent you can find a running back,” Bouchette added. “Before Free Agency started they had a chance to get a running back and sign a linebacker and they could have drafted a running back but they did not.”

Bouchette likes the Steelers chances in the AFC this year and listen to who he thinks is the Steelers most pivotal player if they are going to win and who his dark horse might be for the team MVP.
