PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan)- It was there for them.

Other teams were making deals, improving their roster. Even a divisional opponent, one the Steelers will face next week in the Baltimore Ravens made a deal in getting Ty Montgomery from the Packers.

The Steelers have a perceived glaring need at cornerback. The market was there with players like Janoris Jenkins, Patrick Peterson, Chris Harris, Bradley Roby all rumored to be on the trade block.

Nothing.

So, will the Steelers regret it?

The Fan Morning Show with Colin Dunlap, Chris Mack and Jim Colony discussed this on Wednesday morning and Colin boiled the situation down to this: When December 16th rolls around and the Steelers host the Patriots and Tom Brady is pointing and yelling before the snap, identifying that Coty Sensabaugh or Artie Burns or Cam Sutton is matched up one-on-one with somebody and the pass comes their way and burns them, then we'll know. Then we'll see the impact of what could have been for the Steelers.

Chris said this was the opportunity for the Steelers to break their traditional mold and truly make themselves Super Bowl contenders. The guys cited the different moves made around the league yesterday by playoff hopefuls like the Texans landing WR Demaryius Thomas from the Broncos and said that it can push a team to the top.

Look even at last season, the Philadelphia Eagles identified a need at running back and brought in Jay Ajayi from the Dolphins to make their run to a championship.

Are we going to look back on October 30th and wonder if the lack of action led to an overall season disappointment?

Stay tuned.
