TAMPA BAY (93.7 the Fan) - Steelers players reacted to the first win of the season Monday night in Tampa Bay.

“When he made that last pass to me across the middle, he threw it backside,” said JuJu Smith-Schuster said of his game-ending reception.  “We happened to be on the same page.  I was shocked.  As soon as I caught it, I was like 'wow, that's Ben for you'."

“They busted a coverage, big time,” Vance McDonald said of his 75-yard touchdown.  “Ben and I were on the same page, it was nice.  He just got me the ball.  It’s not often safeties or corner take me up high, so I took advantage.  Just punish him, just inflict as much force on him as possible.  Just crush him, that’s what I was aiming for.”

“I was in a window, getting back in coverage in my position,” said linebacker Bud Dupree said of his first NFL touchdown.  “Being in the right place in the right time, Dan (McCullers) got good pressure and made him thrown an uncomfortable throw.  It’s fire.  It’s our dream to get in the end zone.”

“Gotta be smart, with a win like this we can talk about it and learn from it,” said defensive captain Cam Heyward.  “We gotta clean up these penalties, it’s unacceptable.  Cooler heads have to prevail.”

“We didn’t start worrying, but we wanted to keep the energy up and make sure it didn’t go the way the Cleveland game was, we were up 14 with seven minutes left and ended up tying,” said corner Joe Haden.  “We didn’t want that feeling again.”

“The only thing that matters is winning,” said tailback James Conner.  “It was a business trip.  Good environment, whole bunch of Steelers fans.  So many Terrible Towels waving it felt like a home game.  That’s the most important thing, not worried about the stat line.  We won.”
