PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) – As the Pirates return home from a tough road trip the club is showing signs of something it desperately needs; health. Prior to the start of their game on Tuesday against the Detroit Tigers the club activated right hander Chris Stratton off of the Injured List.

Stratton joined the Pirates earlier this season when he was acquired via trade from the Los Angles Angels on May 11. In his short time with Pittsburgh, Stratton has pitched in four games, allowing five earned runs in 8.1  innings of work (5.40 ERA).

While Stratton has only been used in relief as a Bucco, he has primarily been more of a starting pitcher throughout his major league career. Before coming to the Pirates, five of the seven pitching appearances Stratton made in 2019 were as a starter. In 2018, Stratton started 26 games with the San Francisco Giants where he had a record of 10-10 with a 5.09 ERA.

Stratton provides some help to a Bucco bullpen that is in desperate need of assistance. In a corresponding move, the Pirates have optioned Yefry Ramirez back to Triple-A Indianapolis. Ramirez has yet to pitch a major league game for Pittsburgh this season since being claimed off of waivers from the Baltimore Orioles.
