(93.7 The Fan) A yearly tradition that other teams in the NHL have grown accustom to, the yearly Dad’s Trip has made it to the Penguins’ organization.

This season the Penguins’ fathers will be joining their sons as they have games in back to back nights in Boston and Detroit.

This tradition started seasons back when Dan Bylsma was head coach, current head coach Mike Sullivan has taken the wheel and continued the yearly event.

Fathers will be able to accompany their sons for most off ice activities in the normal routine, including plane rides and team meetings.

Multiple teams around the league also take part in inviting parents on a road trip.

The Los Angeles Kings are currently on their Dad’s Trip, and teams like the Carolina Hurricanes and Calgary Flames have invited the team’s mothers along for a Mom’s Trip.

It is a great opportunity for fathers to get a peek into their kids’ lives as professional athletes, as well as for the fathers to bond over the achievements of their sons’.
