Three of the Pens injured starters were back on the ice at practice in Cranberry Monday afternoon.  Evgeni Malkin skated full while Brian Dumoulin and Carl Hagelin where in non-contact jerseys.

Dumoulin left the ice after a head-hit from Tom Wilson in Sunday’s game and was working with Kris Letang during regular line rushes.

Dumoulin said after practice, “I felt normal, I felt good out there. It was fun to be back out there and I think it was definitely good that I skated today. It gives me confidence.”

Hagelin hasn’t skated since the hit he took in the Philadelphia series from Claude Giroux and practiced with a clear, full-face shield.  Hagelin did not participate in a top four forward line combination but partway through practice changed out of his non-contact jersey.

It was thought Malkin would return Sunday, but was back with a changed second line during practice on Monday.

Malkin was with Bryan Rust and Dominik Simon with Phil Kessel and Conor Sheary on the third line with Derick Brassard.

Pens host the Caps on Tuesday night with the series tied at one.
