Football great Tiki Barber has gone from the gridiron to the Great White Way. The former New York Giants running back is strapping on the sky-high red stiletto boots to make his Broadway debut in the Tony award-winning musical “Kinky Boots.”

"They’re actually pretty comfortable. Don’t tell anyone I said that, though," says Tiki Barber.

Barber is making history as the first professional football player to join the cast of an original Broadway musical.

“I was very fortunate to be part of the New York Giants for 10 years and feel incredibly lucky to be joining another New York institution: Broadway,” Barber says.

And Barber has no problem drawing on his athlete past in order to relate to his new role in the musical as "Don."

"There's so many moments of masoginism and non acceptance that you feel him going through. And being in NFL lockerooms for so many years, you felt that sometimes. Society has changed, and so locker rooms have as well. And I think this is kind of an example of that."

While he’s on the boards, you’ll still be able to hear him on the radio co-hosting CBS Sports Radio’s national afternoon program, “Tiki & Tierney,” which is owned by Entercom, the parent company of RADIO.COM.

Before Barber, Former Tennessee Titans running back Eddie George became the first NFL player to make his Broadway musical debut in “Chicago” in 2016.
