PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) - Pirates Shortstop Cole Tucker grew up in Arizona and is back home playing in front of his family and friends for the first time as a major leaguer with the Pittsburgh Pirates. And he joined Kraig Riley on Pirates Fan Reaction Tuesday night after the Pirates 6-2 victory over the Diamondbacks.

Tucker opens up the conversation talking about what his first month in the big leagues has been like and what he has learned.

"It has been a whirlwind and so much has been happening and I'm so thankful for it all," said Tucker. "I'm getting taught like so much, I'm facing some adversity obviously. I've been hitting some balls hard right at people, I've been having some really good at bats. I've also been having some bad at bats and I'm learning how to navigate through it all and just trying to adjust to the league as they adjust to me."

With the Pirates up 4-0 and a runner on in the 8th, Tucker came to the plate and promptly put one into the right field seats to extend the Pirates lead and it sounded like a Pirates home game with how loud it got in Arizona and his family and friends were looking for a curtain call.

"Yeah they were, but I felt bad as I just peaked up on the top step and kind of gave a little fist bump," said Tucker. "But, the debut in Pittsburgh was wild man and that was something I would never forget and tonight was something that I will never forget too."

"But, I expect that here, I've got so many people who love me, support me and care about me in A.Z.  It's crazy that there's so many people here, but I'm not like that surprised, those are my friends, those are my family."

But, being embraced in Pittsburgh so quickly has mean't so much to him and is a really cool feeling.

Tucker also discussed with Kraig how tough it has been and a learning experience batting in the 8th spot in the order after always being near the top of the lineup coming up through the system.  Also, about this team's ability to bounce back after tough losses and still being able to win series'.

The Pirates send Chris Archer to the mound Wednesday afternoon against Zack Greinke and Arizona as they look to win the series before heading off to San Diego.
