Cale Berger and Chris Peak of Panther-Lair.com recap Pitt's training camp, preview the season opener against the Virginia Cavaliers and take a look at the action from the recruiting trail on this week's Peak at the Panthers.

Cale finds the matchup between Pitt's retooled passing attack and Virginia's secondary most intriguing. While Pitt is looking to have more success through the air this season with the addition of new offensive coordinator Mark Whipple, they will face an immediate test against an experience group of defensive backs for Virginia, led by All-American cornerback Bryce Hall.

Chris is excited to see Pitt center Jimmy Morrissey battle against Virginia's true freshman nose tackle Jowon Briggs. Morrissey is the lone returning starter on the offensive line for the Panthers this season, and he will have to be at his best leading his less experienced teammates against a dangerous defensive front for the Cavaliers.

On the recruiting trail, Chris highlighted the Panthers' most recent signing, 4-star offensive tackle Branson Taylor. Even sweeter for Panthers fans, Pitt was able to beat out bitter rival West Virginia for Taylor's services.
