PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) - Since arriving in Pittsburgh, Steelers wide receiver Ryan Switzer has donated his time and money to Children’s Hospital, especially those young children affected by cancer.

On the Fan Morning Show Tuesday, Switzer talked about his new “Switzburgh” clothing line, with 100 percent of his proceeds going to the oncology department at Children’s.

“I don’t need the income, I don’t need the shares from this,” said Switzer. “I wanted to find someone who did and obviously I’ve been doing the thing with Children’s in the past . . .I thought this would be another cool way like I said last week to get people to donate to the kids as well as support me and the team moving forward.”

You can preorder the “Switzburgh” shirts here.

Switzer says he didn’t come up with the phrase and that “it’s a little corny but people seem to like it.”

In addition to the shirts, Switzer also visits young cancer patients at Children’s every Friday during the season and will begin the second year of his reception challenge that will raise money for the oncology department.

“I really can’t say enough about this city . . . they’ve been great to my wife and I and they really allowed us to call Pittsburgh home in such a short amount of time and I’m really looking forward to down the road and to continue to grow this bond between my family and the city of Pittsburgh,” said Switzer.
