PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) - James Conner has been impressive on the field this season for the Steelers with 111 yards rushing and 2 touchdowns Sunday against the Bengals but the coolest moment happened before the game even started.

A young Steelers fan in Cincinnati Sunday holding a sign up that said “I Just Finished Chemo” got Conner’s attention. He went over to meet the boy and his family to take a very special picture.

An inspiration to us all. Congratulations lil’ man. #CrucialCatch #ConnerStrong

Conner was diagnosed with stage 2 Hodgkin’s lymphoma back in 2015. He went through treatment and came back to play his junior year at Pitt before making himself eligible for the 2017 draft where he was selected by the Steelers in the 3rd round.

Conner has been an inspiration for thousands fighting cancer. He’s also been known to send signed jerseys to young people fighting cancer with words of encouragement.
