PITTSBURGH (93.7 The FAN) - Gregory Polanco and his .201 batting average are back in the lineup tonight against the St. Louis Cardinals while Austin Meadows and his .419 average are on the bench.

When The Starkey and Mueller Show saw the lineup for the first time today, they were stunned.

"I'm speechless," Joe Starkey said.  "What is going on here?"

Joe went on to read some stats Chris Mack provided us with.

"Austin Meadows is 10 for his last 22 with a pair of walks, five extra base hits, two home runs and 4 RBI's.  Gregory Polanco is o-for-his-last-22 with three walks and an RBI."

Chris Mueller speculates that Hurdle keeps putting guys like Polanco and Josh Bell into the lineup because he's convinced they're eventually going to break out.

We'll be watching tonight's game very closely to see if Polanco finally breaks out of this slump or if Meadows is wasted on the bench.
