It’s Week 6 and the Pittsburgh Steelers, once again, are desperate for a win to keep at least a glimmer of hope for the 2019 season. They go out to the west coast on Sunday night to play the Los Angeles Chargers to avoid going 1-5.

Listen to your team news NOW.

Colin Dunlap and Chris Mack of The Fan Morning Show are here for 93.7 The Fan’s “Three Point Stance” to break down this matchup.

Colin first looks at The Duck. Will the situation be too big for Duck Hodges? It’s one thing to be thrown into a game with no time to think. It’s another to have to go through practice all week knowing you are the guy. Will there be a difference in his play?

Sticking with the offense, how much will Benny Snell be used in this one? Jaylen Samuels is out for a month after getting his knee scoped on Monday, so how much will the Steelers turn to their rookie running back in relief of James Conner? Finally, the Chargers stadium situation has been a mess for the past couple years…do the Chargers really have home field advantage? Or will Steeler Nation show up more than LA fans?

Chris talks James Conner and his prime opportunity to be the workhorse back that he was for the first half of last season again. Is this week the week? Also, can OC Randy Fichtner get out of his own way and direct a simplified, conservative approach that focuses on straight ahead running behind an offensive line that -outside of the Bengals game- has not yet done enough to live up to their reputation as one of the best in the NFL?

Chris talks some defense as well, tied with New England for the most turnovers caused in the first five weeks. Steven Nelson may not play but the defense has done a tremendous job in coverage on the outside. Does that continue if he’s out? And can the offense finally capitalize on those turnovers?

All of that and more in this week’s “Three Point Stance.”  Check it out!
