Three-Point Stance: Steelers vs Bengals And Beyond

It’s Week 4 and the Steelers still don’t have a win to their credit. What’s gone wrong? How can they fix it? Colin Dunlap and Chris Mack give you some insight into that and what they are looking for in Monday night’s matchup between the winless Steelers and the winless Cincinnati Bengals in 93.7 The Fan’s “Three Point Stance.”

Colin first wants to know: Is Devin Bush the real deal? The Steelers traded up 10 slots in the first round of the NFL Draft to get this guy, yet he hasn’t necessarily lived up to his top billing in the first three weeks. Can they trust him moving forward?

Also, there’s no doubting that the offensive line’s play hasn’t been to the same level we are used to seeing. The question now becomes why that is. Are they missing former offensive line coach Mike Munchak? Was he even more important than we might have thought? And wait! There’s a positive! Chris Boswell has been good through the first three weeks. In time (maybe even Monday) a game will end up coming down to a made/missed kick. Can he stay hot until they truly need him?

Chris first looks at this very rare behavior from GM Kevin Colbert in making trades in back to back weeks now. Is his strategy working? With depth issues at multiple positions, is Colbert putting together the right personnel in the right way?

Sticking with that offensive line play, how much of it has impacted Mason Rudolph’s play? Chris believes there’s a few factors at play here for how the first year starter has played in his time as QB1. Finally, Chris examines the schedule and thinks it breaks the Steelers way the rest of the season. Favorable matchups and timely home games but just be what the doctor ordered to claw back into the picture.

As Mike Tomlin likes to say, “it’s AFC North ball” in Week 4 and it’s go time in a big way for the Steelers.
