PITTSBURGH (93.7 The FAN) - The Starkey and Mueller Show talked today about the slow offseason the Pirates had in terms of signing players to the tune of zero Major League free agents being signed.  One of the reasons this topic came up was Kansas City Royals third baseman Mike Moustakas today agreeing to a one-year deal worth $6.5 million after turning down the teams qualifying offer earlier this offseason that was worth $17.4 million.

Seeing a move like this just reemphasized how much of a buyers market it is, which is something the Pirates could have capitalized on considering they rarely compete for the big ticket players.  Click the audio player below to hear more from the guys on the matter.

Starkey and Mueller also talked on today's show about the Golden State Warriors cancelling practice because of the team celebrating Steph Curry's 30th birthday the night before and all of the crazy free agent moves that took place during the show, including the Packers making two surprising moves and the Steelers letting one of their wide receivers go.
